Job summary

SYSTRA seeks a Telecom Engineer (System) to perform design reviews for railway telecom systems in Saudi Arabia. This full-time, on-site role requires extensive experience in SCADA, IP networks, and modern telecom infrastructure.

You will coordinate with multiple disciplines, review designs and deliverables, and ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards. Fluency in English and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional qualification in Telecommunications or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in telecommunications engineering and design.
• Strong experience designing SCADA systems for railway operations.
• Experience with IP-based networks, MPLS and VoIP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal and external disciplines to integrate telecom systems in the design.
• Coordinate activities with contractors, utilities, authorities, and stakeholders.
• Investigate field issues affecting property owners and maintenance after relocation activities.
• Review and approve telecom relocation plans by Design-Build contractors.
• Review telecom design deliverables: specs, reports, schedules, drawings, schematics.
• Review and verify equipment/materiel requisitions for compliance.
• Participate in coordination meetings, progress reviews, and design workshops.
• Support resolution of technical issues in operational telecom systems and interfaces.

Context:

SYSTRA is looking for an amazingly talented Telecom Engineer (System)(Saudi National) to perform design reviews for railway operational telecommunications systems to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Missions/Main Duties:

• Coordinate with internal and external technical disciplines to ensure successful integration of telecommunications systems within the overall project design.
• Coordinate assigned activities with contractors, utility providers, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Investigate field issues affecting property owners, contractors, and maintenance operations resulting from telecommunications and utility relocation activities.
• Review and approve telecommunications network relocation plans submitted by Design-Build contractors.
• Review and approve telecommunications design deliverables, including specifications, reports, schedules, drawings, and technical schematics.
• Review and verify detailed equipment and material requisitions proposed by contractors to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Participate in internal and external coordination meetings, progress meetings, and design review workshops.
• Support the resolution of technical issues related to operational telecommunications systems and interfaces.
• Monitor design progress and provide recommendations to ensure successful project delivery.

Profile/Skills:

• Degree, Diploma, or professional qualification in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in telecommunications engineering and design.
• Strong experience in the design of SCADA systems that interface with railway operations.
• Extensive knowledge of telecommunications systems, including telephony, transmission systems, FTN/GSM-R, and copper and fiber optic cabling infrastructure.
• Strong experience with Operational Telecommunications Systems and Station Information and Surveillance Systems.
• Experience designing IP-based networks supporting MPLS and VoIP technologies.
• Strong technical review, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
