Job summary

Adb Safegate is seeking a System Engineer to perform corrective and preventive maintenance on A-VDGS, Aipron, GPUs, and related airport systems at King Fahd International Airport. The role includes inspection, repair, and ongoing system optimization.

You will work in a multinational environment, handle emergency and routine maintenance, and coordinate with maintenance management. The position requires shift work, adherence to safety practices, and detailed record keeping.

Qualifications

  • Certificate in electronics with 5 years' maintenance experience.
  • Experience with airfield lighting maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Aipron 360 and GPU systems.
  • Ability to work shifts and be flexible.
  • Strong safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspections of airfield equipment and identify defects.
  • Replace broken equipment on emergency or scheduled basis.
  • Maintain and repair A-VDGS, GPU, and related systems.
  • Operate VHF radio equipment daily.
  • Maintain logs and work records.
  • Participate in 24/7 standby for emergencies.
  • Work in shifts (morning/afternoon/night) as scheduled.
  • Contribute to SLA KPI achievement.
  • Support training sessions.
  • General cleaning and maintenance of vehicles and tools.
  • Follow airport safety policies.

Job description

Under the authority the System Engineer, performs a variety of corrective and preventive maintenance and electrical activities to repair and maintain the AVDGS, Aipron, the GPU’s and other systems as per contractual requirements at King Fahd International Airport.

Job Description

Execute the work orders as given by the Maintenance Management and System Engineers, including:

Perform regular inspection of airfield to identify broken or unworkable equipment as well as any noticeable events

Replacement of broken equipment either on an emergency basis (corrective maintenance) or according to schedule set by Supervisor (preventive maintenance)

Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots and inspects A-VDGS equipment, GPU’s and other systems and ensures the functioning of the Aipron 360 and other airport systems.

Operates and communicates daily with VHF radio equipment

Participates to general custodial maintenance services to ensure acceptable appearance of A-VDGS facilities and GPU’s.

  • Performs maintenance works in workshop either when in stand-by service or when under planned maintenance activities
  • Disassembly, inspection, part replacement, reassembly and checks of equipment
  • Participates to the 24/24 7/7 stand-by service to support emergencies callouts
  • This position requires to work in shifts (morning/afternoon/night) according to the schedule defined by the Supervisor
  • Maintains work records, including complaint resolutions, maintenance and repair logs, vehicle inspection forms, daily work logs
  • Participates to training sessions to maintain the highest level of competencies
  • Performs general cleaning/maintenance tasks necessary to keep vehicles, equipment, and tools in operable condition, which may include inspecting equipment, checking fluid levels, replacing fluids, greasing equipment, replacing parts, washing/cleaning equipment, or cleaning shop/work areas; responsible for monitoring equipment operations to ensure and maintain efficiency and safety
  • Exercises the necessary care and caution in handling and/or operating vehicles, equipment and tools related to the performance of essential functions and follows airport specific safety policies/practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety, prevention, reporting and monitoring.
  • Actively contribute to the achievement of SLA contract KPI’s

  • Good English written and oral communications skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively with individuals in a face-to-face one-on-one setting; by phone or two-way radio and through written form
  • Ability to work a non-traditional, flexible schedule to include work during evening hours, on weekends and holidays
  • Ability to learn and apply emergency response procedures related to aircraft/facility incidents/accidents and the procedures for notifying regulating authorities
  • Ability to always stay alert and aware in order to prevent injury or accidents.
  • Ability to act in emergency situations or under pressure with minimal guidance or directions
  • Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, diagrams, technical specifications, operational manuals and regulatory publications
  • Ability to effectively communicate via radio with the air traffic control tower and comply with related rules and regulations regarding vehicle usage inside airport movement and non-movement areas.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and submit recommendations for improved maintenance operations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and airport operator.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, materials and tools used in the maintenance, installation, repair and modification of electrical systems
  • Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions associated with aircraft operations
Experience
  • Certificate of Technical Education (electronics) for Technicians or equivalent, with experience of 5 years in the electronics / special systems maintenance and repair, electrical maintenance of facilities in comparable sector (airport)
  • Experience in airfield lighting maintenance, including facilities maintenance and airport management systems (Aipron 360 and/or equivalent)
  • GPU maintenance
  • Knowledge of the operation of airport
  • Skilled in the use of standard and specialized tools used in this work.
