MPH Experts seeks an experienced Substation Specialist to supervise construction of 400 kV turnkey substations. You will monitor EPC contractor performance, lead site inspections, and drive commissioning activities in coordination with client and EPC teams.

Fluency in English is required; Arabic skills are a plus. Candidates should have 10+ years in similar projects, with proven design and construction experience, and strong focus on field safety and environmental practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with both design and construction phases.

Responsabilités

• Supervise construction ensuring expeditious and economical progress per EPC contracts.
• Monitor EPC Contractor for quality, safety, schedule and design compliance; lead site inspections.
• Detect issues at site and propose solutions with project management and EPC teams.
• Review Contractor's Daily Reports and certify materials and progress.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to carry out commissioning activities.
• Interpret drawings/specifications and consult with contractors to ensure program compliance.
• Rectify errors in detailed design or working drawings.
• Oversee site safety, health, and environmental aspects; maintain zero man-hour loss.
• Maintain site records of progress, non-conformities, actions, near-misses and lessons learned.
• Attend site progress meetings and monthly project meetings as required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Supervise the construction and shall make efforts to ensure the expeditious and economical construction thereof in accordance with the terms of the EPC Contracts.
• Monitor the EPC Contractor in order to ensure quality, safety, schedule and compliance to approved design. He will lead site inspections.
• Detect and anticipate issues/problem at site and suggest solutions in liaise with project management and EPC teams.
• Review and assess Contractor's Daily Report.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to carry out commissioning activities.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and consult with contractors (if required) to ensure compliance with the program.
• Rectify any errors revealed in the detailed design or the working drawings.
• Supervise inspection, testing and commissioning,
• Oversee site safety, health, and environmental aspects regularly to ensure a safe, environmentally friendly site environment with zero man-hour loss.
• Maintain records of site activities, progress, non-conformities, remedial actions, follow-up history, near-miss cases, lessons learned, and interface cases at the site level.
• Perform site progress meetings and attend monthly meetings if required by the Project Management.
• Certify all report of materials, certify site progress reports, all inspections performed and attended by him or his team at site, joint measurement certificates to certify the progress of works and related invoicing. Acceptance tests and commissioning shall be carried out by the Contractor and shall be supervised by the substation specialist, in the presence of client representatives.
• Coordinate the required interface for outages with client's stakeholders and the contractors.

Qualifications

The substation specialist shall be an electrical engineer with minimum 10 years' experience in 400 kV substation turnkey installations for similar project in nature and complexity. Must have proven record on working on similar projects, both on design and on construction phases. Must be able to demonstrate a strong attention to field safety. Working language will be English (spoken and written). Speaking Arabic would be appreciated (but not mandatory).
