Job summary

Schneider Electric seeks a Substation Automation & SCADA Engineer in Saudi Arabia to design, configure, and commission SAS/SCADA systems for utility-scale projects.

You will implement IEC 61850 engineering, integrate RTU/HMI, perform FAT/SAT, and support maintenance with a strong focus on client-facing delivery and safety standards.

Travel within KSA and GCC may be required to support projects across critical infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation engineering.
• 5–8 years of Substation Automation, SCADA, RTU, and Power System Automation experience.
• Experience in Utility, Transmission/Distribution, Data Center, or Oil & Gas projects.
• Strong troubleshooting and commissioning skills.
• Excellent client-facing and communication abilities.
• Willingness to travel within KSA and GCC.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, configure, and commission Substation Automation Systems (SAS).
• Configure and integrate SCADA, RTU, HMI, and gateways.
• Perform IEC 61850 engineering, IED integration, GOOSE, MMS.
• Develop SCADA databases, alarms, and control schemes.
• Execute FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Test signal mapping, point-to-point, and communications.
• Interface with clients, consultants, utilities and project teams.
• Prepare technical documentation including FDS, I/O lists, network drawings, test reports.
• Support operations and maintenance for critical power infrastructure.
