Job summary

Al Rugaib Holding Company in Riyadh seeks a Planning Engineer to develop and manage comprehensive project schedules, monitor progress against baselines, and analyze variances to support timely, cost-effective delivery. The ideal candidate has a civil/MEP/architectural engineering background, at least 3 years in contracting and construction, and 5 years in planning.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction/contracting sector.
Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
Strong knowledge of planning techniques, critical path method (CPM), and earned value management.
Ability to prepare baseline programs, progress reports, cash-flow curves, and resource/manpower histograms.
Good understanding of engineering drawings, BOQs, and construction methods and sequencing.
Strong analytical, reporting, and data presentation skills.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office (especially Excel), and project management tools.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the project baseline schedule in coordination with the project team.
Monitor and update project progress and compare actual performance against the planned baseline.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, including S-curves and progress dashboards.
Analyze schedule variances, identify critical activities and delays, and recommend corrective/recovery actions.
Prepare and update resource, manpower, and equipment histograms and cash-flow forecasts.
Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to obtain accurate progress data.
Prepare look-ahead schedules (weekly/monthly) and support short-interval planning.
Support the preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims and delay analysis when required.
Coordinate with consultants and clients on schedule submissions, reviews, and approvals.
Ensure alignment of the project schedule with contractual milestones and completion dates.
