Job summary

Assystem GmbH in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Architect (Saudi National) for a fixed-term contract to lead heritage restoration and large-scale urban development projects on site. The role requires coordinating with Urban Planning, Landscape, Structural, MEP, BIM, and Infrastructure teams, while ensuring SBC and MOMRA compliance.

You will review designs, shop drawings, and method statements, support conservation and adaptive reuse, and resolve technical issues during design and construction,

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional architecture experience.
• Experience with heritage restoration, urban regeneration, or large-scale developments.
• Experience on major heritage projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review architectural designs, drawings and specs for heritage and urban projects.
• Ensure designs align with vision, master plan and heritage requirements.

Notably, Assystem in Türkiye plays a pivotal role in major projects like power generation, and the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant.## Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities* Develop and review architectural designs, drawings, specifications, and technical documents for heritage and urban development projects.* Ensure architectural designs are aligned with the project’s vision, master plan, urban design principles, and heritage conservation requirements.* Review consultant and contractor submissions, including shop drawings, material submittals, mock-ups, and method statements.* Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Urban Planning, Landscape, Structural, MEP, BIM, and Infrastructure disciplines.* Conduct site inspections to monitor construction quality, design compliance, and adherence to approved drawings and specifications.* Support restoration, rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, and conservation of heritage buildings and culturally significant assets.* Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code (SBC), MOMRA regulations, accessibility standards, and applicable heritage authority requirements.* Participate in value engineering, constructability reviews, and design optimization while preserving heritage character.* Assist in resolving technical issues during design and construction phases.* Review material selections, architectural finishes, façade treatments, and conservation methodologies.* Prepare technical reports, design review comments, inspection reports, and progress updates.* Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and government authorities throughout project delivery.* Support BIM coordination and multidisciplinary design integration.## My profile* Minimum **8 years** of professional experience in architecture.* Experience in **heritage restoration, conservation, urban regeneration, mixed-use developments, or large-scale urban development projects**.* Previous experience on projects similar to **Diriyah Gate**, **AlUla**, **Historic Jeddah**, **Qiddiya**, **NEOM**, or comparable cultural and heritage developments is highly desirable.* Experience with engineering consultancies, PMC, or supervising engineering offices is preferred.We are committed to equal treatment of candidates and promote, as well as foster all forms of diversity within our company.
