Job summary

The British International School Riyadh (BISR) seeks a dedicated Specialist Piano Teacher to join our Whole School Music program. You will teach piano across ages 4-18, aligning with the English National Curriculum and BISR enrichment ethos.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of piano teaching experience, hold a UK teaching qualification, and be able to deliver ABRSM Grade 8 level instruction. The role supports wellbeing and intercultural learning within a strong school community.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Piano Teacher. We need teachers who are reflective, highly motivated, and collaborative, with a focus on delivering outstanding learning experiences for our students.We are looking for candidates who possess the ability to teach up to Grade 8 ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music).We are particularly interested in candidates who are eager to contribute to our strategic pillars of learning, enrichment, and well-being.

Be committed to development of high-quality learning experiences underpinned by a clear understanding of how learning is developed, where students are motivated and equipped to become life-long learners.

Demonstrate a passion for learning, be a reflective practitioner, showing a strong commitment to development of outstanding classroom practice.

Use high quality assessment and feedback strategies to ensure students make good progress with their learning.

Ensure students flourish by creating a positive climate for learning, supporting the holistic development of each student, with a strong emphasis on well-being in an intercultural context.

Have excellent interpersonal skills, high levels of emotional intelligence and a good sense of humour, effectively collaborating within a range of teams.

Fully support the school Mission, Vision and Motto.

Go the extra mile for students, contributing to the wider life of the school, including the broad co-curricular programme and community events.

Serve as Form Tutors, supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic well-being as the first point of contact in the pastoral care system.

Have a UK or UK recognised teaching qualification.

BISR teachers should possess the following:

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher status.
  • Certificate of Education (PGCE or B.Ed).
  • Relevant training or qualifications for the specific post.
  • Appreciation of a British school's demands in an international context.

  • Understanding of intercultural awareness and cultural sensitivity.
  • Recognition of responsibility for students' holistic growth and well-being.

Experience:

  • Experience in various contexts (UK and international).
