Position Overview

A private family in Riyadh is seeking an experienced and highly capableFemale English Teacherto provide full-time academic support to a student studying at Key Stages 3 and 4.


The successful candidate will deliver personalised, structured, and engaging English tuition aligned with the British curriculum. The role will focus on strengthening the student’s subject knowledge, developing confidence and independence, and preparing them effectively for GCSE or IGCSE examinations.


This is a discreet private appointment requiring a professional, adaptable, and student-centred educator who can work collaboratively with the family and respond to the student’s changing academic needs.


Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:



  • Planning and delivering high-quality one-to-one English lessons.

  • Teaching English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4 level.

  • Supporting the student with reading, writing, analysis, grammar, vocabulary, and examination technique.

  • Preparing the student for relevant GCSE or IGCSE assessments.

  • Assessing progress regularly and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.

  • Identifying areas of weakness and creating targeted intervention plans.

  • Developing the student’s confidence, motivation, organisation, and independent study skills.

  • Setting appropriate assignments, revision tasks, and extension work.

  • Maintaining accurate records of lesson content, progress, attainment, and future objectives.

  • Communicating professionally with the family regarding academic development and priorities.

  • Working alongside other educators, tutors, schools, or educational advisers where required.

  • Supporting continuity of learning during school holidays, examination periods, and family travel.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced English teacher with a strong understanding of the British curriculum and a proven record of supporting students through KS3 and KS4.


Applicants should demonstrate:



  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.

  • Experience teaching or tutoring students aged approximately 11-16.

  • Familiarity with GCSE and/or IGCSE specifications.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Several years of relevant teaching or private tutoring experience.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time private teaching position based in Riyadh.


The Teacher will be expected to provide consistent academic support around the student’s school commitments while remaining responsive to the family’s schedule and the student’s educational requirements.


The role may involve adjustments to the usual timetable during:



  • Examination and revision periods.

  • School holidays.

  • Academic transition periods.

  • Family travel.

  • Times when additional tuition or supervision is required.


Exact working hours, weekly schedules, rest days, and other employment arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.


The successful applicant must be comfortable working in a private family environment and adapting to the requirements of a full-time residential or non-residential appointment, as applicable.


Travel and Confidentiality

The position will be based primarily in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.


Occasional domestic or international travel may be required to maintain continuity of the student’s education. The successful candidate should therefore be willing to accompany the family when necessary and provide appropriate academic support while travelling.


Due to the private nature of the appointment, the Teacher must maintain complete confidentiality and discretion at all times. This includes all information relating to:



  • The student and their education.

  • The family and household.

  • Daily routines and schedules.

  • Travel arrangements.

  • Personal, professional, or financial matters.

  • Any other information encountered during the appointment.


The successful candidate must not disclose, publish, photograph, record, or share confidential information without prior written permission.
