Job summary

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh seeks a Specialist Physician to provide expert medical care in the Stroke Section. You're expected to supervise interns and residents as requested by the Consultant and to comply with hospital bylaws, policies, and procedures.

The role involves high responsibility, on-call coverage during evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, and active participation in specialty clinics and rounds to ensure quality patient care and ongoing

Qualifications

• Graduation from a medical school in good standing.
• Completion of required postgraduate training in a specialty and/or subspecialty.
• Saudi/American Board or Canadian/UK certification, or equivalent as outlined by medical staff credentials.
• At least four (4) years of Training/Post-Training Experience is required.
• Saudi Nationals Only.

• Informs Consultant about problems or discrepancies.
• Complies with medical care regulations and safety standards.
• Provides patient care and management in the specialty as requested by the Consultant.
• Performs assessment, examination, case history, and assists in diagnosis and management.
• Maintains detailed medical history and thorough physical examinations.
• Records progress notes and orders, and provides on-call coverage on a rotating basis.
• Participates in ward rounds and educational activities.

Summary

Provides medical care in the field of specialty and supervises interns and residents as requested by the Consultant and in accordance with current medical staff bylaws rules and regulations and the Hospital s policies and procedures

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Applies medical techniques and principles under the direction of Consultant and deals with a diverse set of patients offering them care and encouragement
• Informs Consultant about any problems or discrepancies that might arise
• Complies strictly with medical care regulations and safety standards
• Provides required patient care and management in the field of speciality in accordance with standards of medical care laid down by the Hospital as requested by the Consultant
• Studies and performs assessment examination and the compilation of a case history and assists in the diagnosis and management of the patient in accordance with criteria listed in diagnostic manuals such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual
• Registers detailed medical history
• Conducts a thorough physical examination and creates a plan for patient management and follows up for discussion with the Consultant
• Supplies progress notes and other required documents for outpatients and records the Consultant's orders
• Provides on-call coverage for their specialty on a rotational basis during evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays
• Prepares for and participates in specialist ward rounds as per policy
• Documents findings in medical records
• Follows up on investigation results for outpatients and modifies treatment accordingly
• Attends specialty clinics, outpatient clinics and shares on on-call schedule as per requirements
• Performs any other clinical responsibilities as assigned
• Provides orientation bedside training and supervision of interns residents and fellows as assigned
• Keeps abreast of all the latest techniques and developments especially in area of specialization
• Implements them on a selective basis to improve technical standards
• Participates in the educational activities and training programs of the Department
• Participates in national and international medical conferences

Qualifications
