Knowledge Economic City in Madinah is seeking a Social Media Specialist to manage day-to-day platforms, develop content calendars and coordinate with marketing teams. You will craft bilingual Arabic/English content, supervise publishing, and track performance metrics to inform strategy.

The role requires experience in destination marketing or live events, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to work on-site with some travel for activations and launches.

Job description

We are looking for an organised, proactive and creative Social Media Specialist to work on-site at Knowledge Economic City (KEC) - one of Saudi Arabia's landmark mixed-use destinations.

You will serve as the key link between the KEC Marketing team and Bureau’s wider social media team, ensuring that stories, events, projects and milestones across the destination are identified, captured and shared effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day social media operations across Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Develop and execute monthly content calendars, platform-specific strategies, and publishing schedules aligned with marketing objectives.
• Create, review, and optimize bilingual (Arabic and English) social media content, captions, hashtags, and creative briefs.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, marketing teams, designers, and content creators to manage content development, approvals, and timely publishing.
• Manage social media scheduling and publishing using Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or similar platforms.
• Monitor and manage community engagement, including comments, direct messages, mentions, audience inquiries, and online conversations.
• Track and analyze social media KPIs, including reach, impressions, engagement rate, follower growth, CTR, video views, and audience demographics.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports using Meta Insights, LinkedIn Analytics, Google Analytics or equivalent
• Identify newsworthy projects, events, launches, and milestones and coordinate on-site photography, videography, and content production.
• Provide real-time social media coverage during events, activations, launches, and corporate announcements.
• Monitor competitor activities, social media trends, algorithm updates, and emerging digital opportunities to improve content performance.
• Maintain content approval trackers, digital asset libraries, publishing schedules, and stakeholder communication records.
• Ensure all published content complies with client brand guidelines, corporate communication standards, and Saudi cultural values.

Candidate Requirements:

• 3-5+ years of experience in social media, marketing or communications
• Agency experience is a strong advantage
• Native-level Arabic writing skills and fluency in English
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Confidence working with marketing teams and senior leadership
• Sound judgement regarding tone, cultural sensitivity and Madinah's significance
• Proactive, dependable and comfortable working independently with a remote wider team
• Experience in destination marketing, real estate, hospitality, tourism, government brands, live events, on-ground content coverage or influencer coordination would be an advantage.

Practical Details:

• Full-time, on-site at the KEC offices in Madinah
• Regular presence across KEC sites will be required
• Reports to the Account Director
• Works closely with the KEC Marketing team
• Flexibility to support events, activations and launches outside standard working hours
• Occasional travel within Saudi Arabia may be required
