IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture seeks a Senior Road Engineer to join the Project and Construction Management team in Riyadh. You will coordinate technical aspects of road works, review design submissions, and ensure compliance with project objectives on large-scale urban highway and tunnel projects.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in civil road projects, a Civil Engineering degree, SCE membership, and affiliations with industry bodies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with road design specialization or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of experience in mega construction projects as consultant, with road/transport projects.
• SCE membership is mandatory and must be included with CV.
• Formal affiliations to recognized bodies (RICS, IQS, ICES, CIOB) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Technical control of all road works and coordination with other disciplines.
• Advise on design changes and coordinate with home office support.
• Oversee contractor submissions, shop drawings, and materials for compliance.
• Review contractor drawings, schedules and submittals to ensure design intent.
• Assess and report on Value Engineering proposals.
• Serve as the interface between Road Engineering and Technical Manager.

Job description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Road Engineer to join our Project and Construction Management team in Riyadh. This opportunity lies within our Infrastructure Division and requires specific expertise in working on Civil Engineering and Transportation projects, particularly those involving roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels in urban environments. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all technical aspects related to road works, including quality control, drawing revision, value engineering and technical construction method revision and follow up. You should coordinate with all the other relevant senior specialties such as structures, drainage, ITS and material, among others.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Main descriptions of the job position:

• Technical control of all roads works as well as coordination with all other discipline specialists and with the persons responsible for quality control.
• Amplifies or resolves design issues, where possible, or coordinates design issue with home office support.
• Advises technically on design changes.
• Oversees the Contractor’s technical submissions, shop drawings, materials, and design submissions.
• Final Review of all Contractor’s relevant drawings, schedules, or materials submittals to ensure compliance with the overall objectives of the design concepts of the project.
• Assessment and reporting technically on any Value Engineering proposals.
• Act as Point of contact between the Road Engineering department and the Technical Manager.

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with specialty/majoring in Road Design and/or equivalent work experience.
• Mandatory to provide the valid SCE membership attached with the CV.
• Formal qualifications/affiliations to RICS, IQS, ICES, or CIOB.
• Applicable Experience: over 15 years in project management, particularly in mega construction projects mainly as a Consultant. Candidates with exclusive contractors experience will not be taken into consideration.
• At least experience in 1 or more projects of ROADS. Candidates without clear ROAD experience will not be taken into consideration.
• DESIGN experience.
• Understanding of construction, design and engineering principles.
• Understanding of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Proficiency level of English language. Arabic Language is a plus.
• Report writing skills, social skills, communication, teamwork, problem solving, autonomy, flexibility, and technical rigor.
• Willingness to work in a multinational environment firm.

Additional requirements:

• Transferable Iqama in case of non-Saudi.
• Based in Riyadh.
• Valid SCE membership.
