Job summary

Mace is delivering a major mixed-use transport and infrastructure programme in Saudi Arabia. We seek a Senior Hazard and Risk Engineer to lead functional safety, hazard management and railway risk modelling across the portfolio, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to secure regulatory approvals and safe asset delivery.

The role requires 10-15 years in land transport safety, Chartered Engineer status, and hands-on experience with hazard logs, fault tree and bow-tie analyses in line with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with railway systems safety focus.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
• 10-15 years’ experience in land transport design/construction/ops.
• Experience with Hazard Logs and safety performance metrics.
• Knowledge of ISO61508 and EN50126/29/50716 standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement hazard and risk management strategies and tools.
• Define safety targets and verify evidence for approvals.
• Review supplier hazard records and ensure proper governance.
• Own risk records, models and reporting; manage residual risks.
• Lead hazard analysis using fault tree and bow-tie methods.
• Coordinate with Director, Safety Certification & Regulation and regulator approvals.
• Support net zero carbon initiatives on the project.
