Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a seasoned QA/QC Manager to uphold quality on landmark construction projects in Jeddah. You will lead inspections, manage non-conformances, and coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure compliance with contract requirements.

You will develop robust quality procedures, supervise on-site QC activities, and report weekly on quality progress, aiming for zero defects and timely commissioning. A 15+ year background in QA/QC is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of production, construction techniques, procedures, codes, and standards.
• Thorough understanding of ISO 9001; defect analysis and workgroups.
• Knowledge of statistical principles and conducts statistical analysis.
• Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Review and ensure vendor prequalifications, method statements, ITPs, equipment data, material samples and manufacturers meet contract drawings and project quality system.
• Ensure all requirements of applicable specifications and drawings are met and report deficiencies on-site.
• Establish and maintain procedures to develop standard project quality documentation and propose improvements.
• Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Coordinate QA procedures and QC work with other disciplines for safe, seamless management with trades and activities.
• Coordinate testing and inspection of offsite materials storage and testing.
• Inspect all materials for compliance to submittals and drawings.
• Monitor performance of all control activities and tests on building components.
• Direct, supervise and coordinate inspection/engineering QC activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems relating to activity quality control.
• Identify non-conformances and lead investigations with relevant departments; evaluate corrective & preventive action plans.
• Participate in development of the commissioning plan and implement it.
• Participate in and conduct quality meetings with contractor, construction team and suppliers.
• Coordinate with Engineering to resolve construction issues, RFIs and conflicts.
• Review and facilitate Daily Report process; keep updated daily reports; submit weekly and monthly quality reports.

The QA/QC Manager holds the responsibility for maintaining updated site activities on a daily basis, recording all quality observations on site. Duties shall include but not limited to ensuring that the contractor complies with the project’s specifications in his submitted activities, manage and evaluate all processes and ensure efficient quality control within the projects; provide support to the construction team and to other Quality Control Specialists, and ensuring all work is in compliance with the contract requirements.
