Job summary

A company in the Power Industry in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a QA / QC Engineer with 10-12 years of experience. The role involves establishing quality control standards, supervising inspectors, and ensuring compliance with ISO procedures. Ideal candidates will have a history of coordinating quality activities and conducting audits. Immediate joiners preferred.

Qualifications

  • 10-12 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control in the Power Industry.
  • Proven experience in implementing ISO or alternate procedures.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders including clients and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and activate Project Quality Plan with Project staff.
  • Supervise quality control inspectors and engineers.
  • Prepare inspection and test plans for site activities.
  • Monitor quality control for definable areas of work.
  • Compile and analyze data regarding quality for lessons learned.
  • Prepare Method statements for installations in coordination with senior engineers.
  • Ensure inspection of material at site and installations as advised.
  • Monitor quality control for defined areas as per PQP and specs.
  • Coordinate with client, consultants and local authorities for site inspections.
  • Coordinate with suppliers/sub-contractors quality control representatives.
  • Evaluate products and client/ consultant complaints.
  • Control calibration records of testing instruments.
  • Perform internal project quality audits and coordinate with external auditors.

Overview

One of our clients is in the Power Industry in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and is hiring for the position of QA / QC Engineer.

Years of Experience: 10-12 years of experience

Notice Period: Immediate joiners or a maximum one-month notice period.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and activate Project Quality Plan and procedures with Project staff and ensure quality control throughout the project.
  • Ensure preparation and compliance in the Company with established ISO/Alternate procedures for Quality and Environmental Protection.
  • Nodal point for all Quality Documents, Procedures and Compliance in the Company across all Departments.
  • Supervise the quality control inspectors & engineers.
  • Prepare inspection and test plans and checklists for site activities.
  • Prepare Method statements for various installations in coordination with senior engineers and construction in charge.
  • Ensure inspection of material received at site after information from stores in charge.
  • Ensure inspections of installations are taking place when advised by the construction-in-charge/site engineer/supervisor.
  • Monitor quality control for each definable area/section of work as per PQP, Method statements, ITPs and specifications.
  • Coordinate with Main client, Consultants and Local Authorities for arrangement of site inspection.
  • Coordinate with suppliers/sub-contractors quality control representatives to ensure that products and services meet the Contract requirements.
  • Evaluate products and Client/Consultant complaints regarding products and installation.
  • Coordinate with Client/ Consultant and other contractor's quality representatives.
  • Control calibration records of testing and measuring instruments.
  • Monitor and supervise tests required in the technical provision of the Contract.
  • Control, report and process non-conformances.
  • Provide monthly reports for offsite quality activities.
  • Obtain written permission from the QC Issuing Authority/Client/Consultant when amendments to the Quality control system are required.
  • Arrange inspection of material before and after delivery to the project site.
  • Carry out joint goal setting of direct employees, conduct their formal appraisals & feedback sessions at least twice a year, identify training needs, encourage development initiatives, participate in mentoring initiatives and implement action plans for improved Employee Engagement.
  • Compile and analyze data regarding quality and share it as a Lesson Learned document for each project.
  • Perform internal project quality audits to ensure implementation of the approved PQP.
  • Work in collaboration with external auditors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
