Job Summary:
The Senior Procurement Engineer (Electromechanical) is responsible for managing the procurement of electromechanical materials, equipment, and subcontract packages for construction projects. The role ensures timely delivery, cost efficiency, compliance with project specifications, and alignment with company procurement policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Planning & Strategy
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for electromechanical (MEP) packages.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and BOQs to determine procurement requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, design teams, and planning engineers.
Supplier & Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and prequalify suppliers and subcontractors.
- Maintain strong relationships with approved vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
Tendering & Contracting
- Prepare RFQs/RFPs and analyze supplier quotations.
- Conduct technical and commercial bid evaluations.
- Lead negotiations and finalize purchase orders and subcontracts.
Technical Evaluation
- Ensure materials and equipment comply with project specifications and standards.
- Review technical submittals in coordination with engineering teams.
- Resolve technical discrepancies with suppliers.
Cost Control & Budgeting
- Monitor procurement budgets and track cost savings.
- Perform cost analysis and value engineering where applicable.
- Ensure procurement aligns with project cost targets.
Logistics & Delivery
- Track orders to ensure timely delivery to project sites.
- Coordinate with logistics teams for shipping and customs clearance.
- Mitigate risks related to delays or supply chain disruptions.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and Saudi regulations.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- Support internal and external audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- 8–12 years of experience in procurement within construction/MEP projects.
- Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical systems).
- Experience working in KSA or GCC is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with local regulations, vendors, and market conditions.
