Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed logic-linked schedules for tunnel MEP and fit-out works using Primavera P6.
  • Establish and maintain WBS, CBS, activity coding, calendar structures, and reporting layouts.
  • Define construction and installation sequences for mechanical, electrical, ELV, tunnel finishes, fit-out works, access constraints, interfaces, and testing stages.
  • Coordinate and integrate contractor programmes into a consolidated package schedule aligned with the overall tunnel systems master schedule.
  • Prepare short-term look-ahead programmes (two-week and four-week) for site teams.
  • Implement progress measurement systems including earned value metrics (EV, PV, AC).
  • Track progress against baselines and identify variances, slippages, and schedule risks.
  • Prepare planning visuals and inputs for internal reviews, client meetings, and steering committee reporting.
  • Work with MEP, tunnel, fit-out, construction, and commissioning teams to reflect sequences in the programme.

Role Context: The Senior Planner - Tunnel MEP Fit‑Out will support the planning and schedule control of MEP installation, architectural fit‑out, tunnel systems interfaces, progress measurement, testing, commissioning, and handover activities. The role is important for maintaining a realistic and logic‑linked programme that reflects site access, construction sequencing, contractor inputs, interface dependencies, risk events, and recovery actions. This position also provides schedule evidence and planning analysis for EOT submissions, delay reviews, claims support, and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed logic‑linked schedules for tunnel MEP and fit‑out works using Primavera P6.
  • Establish and maintain WBS, CBS, activity coding, calendar structures, and reporting layouts aligned with project and program controls requirements.
  • Define construction and installation sequences for mechanical, electrical, ELV, tunnel finishes, fit‑out works, access constraints, interfaces, and testing stages.
  • Coordinate and integrate contractor programmes into a consolidated package schedule aligned with the overall tunnel systems master schedule.
  • Prepare short‑term look‑ahead programmes, including two‑week and four‑week plans, to support site teams with upcoming installation, inspection, and commissioning activities.
  • Implement progress measurement systems for tunnel MEP and fit‑out activities, including earned value metrics such as EV, PV, and AC.
  • Track actual progress against baseline schedules and identify variances, slippages, critical path movement, and emerging schedule risks.
  • Produce weekly and monthly planning reports covering S‑curves, progress charts, milestone tracking, forecast completion dates, critical path analysis, and near‑critical activities.
  • Prepare planning visualizations and schedule inputs for internal reviews, client progress meetings, contractor coordination sessions, and steering committee reporting.
  • Work closely with MEP, tunnel systems, fit‑out, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure installation and testing sequences are accurately reflected in the programme.
  • Plan and monitor mechanical systems activities including tunnel ventilation, drainage, pumping, firefighting, and related support systems.
  • Plan and monitor electrical systems activities including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, containment, cabling, and system readiness requirements.
  • Track ELV, communication, control, BMS, SCADA, life safety, and tunnel operational systems within the planning framework.
  • Monitor architectural finishes and tunnel fit‑out works such as walls, ceilings, flooring, access elements, and final completion interfaces.
  • Support testing and commissioning planning, including pre‑commissioning, integrated testing, authority inspections, system readiness, and handover milestones.
  • Assist with preparation and review of EOT claims related to tunnel MEP and fit‑out works.
  • Develop and maintain baseline schedules, contemporaneous updates, logic diagrams, and progress records suitable for EOT and delay analysis.
  • Support Time Impact Analysis, windows analysis, and as‑planned versus as‑built schedule comparisons.
  • Work with the Senior Planning Manager and commercial team to provide schedule data, delay narratives, programme extracts, and planning evidence for EOT submissions and claim defense.
  • Contribute to schedule risk identification covering access, interfaces, design changes, material deliveries, resource constraints, testing delays, and commissioning dependencies.
  • Support the maintenance of risk registers and link major planning risks to relevant schedule activities.
  • Evaluate mitigation and recovery options such as resequencing, additional resources, shift work, revised access plans, and accelerated work fronts.
  • Coordinate with construction, MEP, fit‑out, design, project controls, and commercial teams to maintain an agreed and achievable schedule.
  • Participate in planning, progress, and interface meetings with contractors, consultants, and client representatives.
  • Maintain proper documentation for schedule baselines, updates, revisions, approvals, progress records, and planning assumptions.
  • Ensure planning activities comply with program management standards, client procedures, document control requirements, and project governance expectations.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of planning and scheduling experience in construction, infrastructure, tunnel, MEP, fit‑out, or large‑scale project environments.
  • Strong experience preparing and controlling detailed schedules for MEP installation, tunnel systems, architectural fit‑out, and testing and commissioning phases.
  • Practical knowledge of tunnel projects, underground works, major infrastructure packages, or complex MEP‑intensive developments is highly desirable.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory, including logic development, baselines, progress updates, coding, layouts, filters, and reporting.
  • Strong capability in schedule development, activity sequencing, resource loading, progress measurement, and critical path analysis.
  • Good understanding of construction and installation methodologies for tunnel MEP systems, fit‑out works, access constraints, and interface management.
  • Working knowledge of earned value management and basic cost‑time integration.
  • Experience supporting EOT submissions, delay analysis, Time Impact Analysis, windows analysis, and claims‑related planning documentation is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and standard reporting tools; Power BI or similar dashboard experience is an advantage.
  • Basic awareness of BIM and 4D planning concepts is a plus.
