Job summary

Norconsult Telematics is seeking an experienced OpenShift Engineer to design, deploy, and manage Red Hat OpenShift environments. You will automate provisioning, support Kubernetes clusters, and ensure security and performance across enterprise workloads in a predominantly on‑premise Riyadh setup.

The role requires hands‑on OpenShift administration, strong Linux skills, and experience with GitOps tools like ArgoCD and CI/CD pipelines. Collaboration with multiple teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years hands‑on experience administering and supporting Red Hat OpenShift.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts (Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress, Operators, Namespaces).
• Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with automation and scripting: Ansible, Shell scripting, or Python.
• Experience with GitOps, ArgoCD, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Networking fundamentals including DNS, Load Balancers, Firewalls, Ingress Controllers.
• Storage technologies including SAN, NFS, Ceph, and ODF.
• Monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and ELK Stack.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain OpenShift environments across bare‑metal and virtualized platforms.
• Administer Kubernetes and OpenShift clusters with high availability and scalability.
• Manage cluster lifecycle: install, upgrades, patching, scaling, backup, recovery.
• Troubleshoot platform, container, infrastructure, and application issues.
• Automate provisioning and operations using Ansible, GitOps, ArgoCD, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate OpenShift with networking components including Load Balancers, DNS, Ingress Controllers, Firewalls, and MetalLB.
• Configure and manage storage integrations including SAN, NFS, Ceph, and ODF.
• Implement and maintain platform security controls including RBAC, IAM, image security, vulnerability management, and secrets management.
• Monitor platform health using Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and ELK Stack.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and maintain architecture docs and runbooks.
