Job summary

AECOM is seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer - Design in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to lead detailed mechanical design and optimization of components and systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to transform concepts into manufacturable designs while meeting industry standards and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in mechanical design, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD/SolidWorks/CATIA), and experience in material selection and design verification.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in mechanical design or product development.
• Proficiency in CAD software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, engineering fundamentals, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to create detailed technical drawings and design documentation.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with material selection and understanding of material properties.
• Familiarity with ISO, ASME or similar standards and quality requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple design projects.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings using CAD software and ensure accuracy to specifications.
• Conduct design analysis and simulations to evaluate performance, stress, and durability of components.
• Translate requirements into comprehensive design solutions meeting functional objectives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and product teams to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
• Perform material selection and analysis to optimize performance and manufacturability.
• Document design modifications and maintain organized design files and version control.
• Review designs against industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations for improvements.
• Support prototyping and testing phases with design guidance and troubleshooting.
