Job summary
TRACTEBEL ENGINEERING S.A DUBAI BRANCH seeks a senior electrical engineer to lead main circuit design studies for FACTS and HVDC projects. You will develop configurations per project specs and review electrical system performance.
The role requires 15+ years of experience, MATLAB/PSCAD proficiency, insulation coordination expertise, and coordination with control, protection, and substation teams and clients.
Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering and power system studies.
- Extensive experience in Main Circuit Design for FACTS and HVDC applications.
- Familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards and international engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform main circuit design studies for FACTS and HVDC projects.
- Develop and review main circuit configurations based on project requirements and system specs.
- Conduct RAM, insulation coordination, and power losses studies for HVDC/FACTS systems.
- Define and evaluate control objectives and their impact on circuit design and performance.
- Develop and validate electrical system models for simulation (MATLAB/PSCAD).
- Coordinate with Power System Control, Protection, Substation and other disciplines for integration.
- Review vendor documentation and provide technical recommendations to clients and project teams.
