Job summary

Saudi Aramco is seeking an Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Scientist to join the Technology Strategy & Planning Department. The role focuses on developing detailed LCA models, conducting climate impact assessments, and providing data-driven insights for technology decisions.

The successful candidate will publish findings, collaborate with leading universities and research labs, and contribute to regulatory and standards alignment across global projects.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant science/engineering field, or Master’s with proven LCA expertise.
• 7 years in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), with 5+ years in evaluating advanced energy technologies.
• Proven track record in LCA and Energy/Material Flow Analysis.
• Expertise with LCA tools GREET, GaBi, openLCA, SimaPro.
• Knowledge of techno-economic assessment techniques.
• Familiarity with environmental policy regulations affecting LCA methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and in project teams across time zones.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive LCA models for low-carbon energy, chemicals, and materials.
• Conduct prospective LCA to assess CO2 reduction potential and trade-offs of technologies.
• Utilize modeling tools and simulations for CO2-impact assessments.
• Develop new methodologies and adapt techniques from literature.
• Stay updated on LCA methodologies in key regulations.
• Lead collaborations with universities and research institutions.
• Publish peer‑reviewed articles in high‑impact journals.
• Maintain knowledge of programming and data visualization tools (Matlab, Python, VB Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
