Job summary

A leading construction firm in Saudi Arabia seeks a Senior HSE Manager to oversee daily operations of the project HSE department. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining HSE policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, at least eight years of experience, with five years in a supervisory role and a solid understanding of HSE best practices. The role promotes a proactive approach to safety and risk management while providing leadership across all projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years working experience.
  • 5 years in a relevant supervisory position required.
  • 2 years GCC experience preferred.

Job Summary

The Senior HSE Manager carries out the day to day operations of Project HSE department and contribute to the application of effective Health, Safety, and Environmental management by providing technical support. Develops and executes health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines. Evaluates practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law. Monitors compliance with policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations associated with high project value, and ensures proper identification by the head of the department.


Job Responsibilities


  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and management systems to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.

  • Provide leadership and direction for HSE initiatives, fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across the organization.

  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify hazards, evaluate risks, and implement control measures to mitigate potential incidents.

  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning to prevent recurrence and improve HSE performance.

  • Develop and deliver HSE training programs to educate employees on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and environmental responsibilities.

  • Monitor, and analyze data to measure progress and identify areas for improvement.

  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, clients, and stakeholders on HSE matters, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements.

  • documentation for internal and external stakeholders, communicating key findings and recommendations.

  • Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance through the implementation of best practices, lessons learned, and feedback mechanisms.

  • Provide HSE guidance and support to senior management, department heads, and project teams, promoting a proactive approach to risk management and HSE excellence.

  • Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.

  • Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.

  • Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities to develop and implement effective HSE programs and initiatives.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels and effectively convey HSE information.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risks, analyze data, and develop appropriate control measures.

  • Regulatory compliance expertise to ensure adherence to legal requirements and industry standards in HSE management.

  • ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.


Job Experience
