Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Engineer for Closures Mechanisms/Plastics to lead design intent, assembly requirements, and sustaining engineering on the manufacturing line. You will serve as the engineering contact for mechanisms/plastics and drive part releases, design improvements, and validation activities.

The role requires hands-on CAD (CATIA preferred), GD&T expertise, DFMEA/PFMEA knowledge, and a track record of solving complex manufacturing issues with data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in mechanical/automotive with 5+ years in design & release of vehicle attributes.
• Professional Six Sigma certification (Black Belt/Green Belt) or equivalent problem solving.
• Hands-on prototype and production assembly experience; willing to assemble parts.

Responsibilities

• Own design intent and assembly requirements for Closures Mechanisms/Plastics on the manufacturing line.
• Lead root cause analysis and containment for product issues.
• Support new product launches; process deviations and concessions for Closures Mechanisms/Plastics.
• Coordinate with manufacturing for efficient process sequence and build quality; interface with suppliers.
• Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing; travel as needed.
