Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Construction Supervision team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will oversee electrical systems for a major roads and highways infrastructure project, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality, safety, and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in electrical engineering.
• Experience with leading international engineering consultancy firms is required.
• Significant experience in construction supervision and site-based roles.
• Demonstrated experience on major roads, highways, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor electrical construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and standards.
• Inspect and oversee electrical systems including street lighting, ITS, traffic signals, power distribution, substations, communications, and tunnel/roadway systems.
• Review contractor shop drawings, submittals, method statements, and procedures.
• Conduct site inspections and quality audits to ensure work meets project requirements.
• Monitor contractor performance and progress against approved schedules.
• Provide technical guidance to site teams, clients, and contractors on electrical matters.
• Coordinate with design teams to address construction challenges and implement approved solutions.
• Witness FATs and SATs and review commissioning documentation.
• Support interface management with utility authorities and government stakeholders.
