Job summary

SYSTRA in Riyadh invites an Electrical (Design) Engineer to join a specialized team reviewing LV electrical design for metro projects. Based in Riyadh, you will assess layouts, switchboards, cables, lighting, earthing and BMS interfaces.

You will perform load calculations, study cable sizing, review drawings and submittals, coordinate with other disciplines, and support factory tests and commissioning. A Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 8+ years of design or review experience in large

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 8 years’ experience in design or design review, installation, testing and commissioning for Electrical systems.
In-depth knowledge of international standards such as NEC and Local Body Authorities.
Experience in large civil, structural or industrial projects.
Detailed understanding of materials and equipment selection.

Responsibilities

Review design equipment layout e.g. LV Switchboards, MCC Switchboards and ATS; review LV cable lighting, small power, fire alarm, BMS, earthing and lightning protection systems.
Review cable sizing calculations, raceways, correction factors, short circuit and voltage drop analyses.
Review Lighting Illumination Level tables using DIALux/AGI32 or other lighting programs.
Review LV system Riser diagrams, single line diagrams, circuiting and interconnections.
Review cable load schedules, termination drawings, and shop drawings.
Calculate Electrical Load per NEC Standards & Local Regulations.
Review Electrical layouts, plans, and specs per national codes and RC standards.
Review and comment on design drawings, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs.
Coordinate design with other engineering disciplines and oversee factory acceptance tests of LV & MCC switchboards; participate in startup testing of equipment and interface control to ATS, generators, fuel systems, fire alarm, and BMS.
