Job summary

Astek is seeking a skilled Database Administrator in Saudi Arabia to manage enterprise database systems and ensure their security, performance, and availability. The role involves monitoring, tuning, backup, and recovery, with collaboration across application, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of DBA experience, with hands-on work across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in database administration or a related technical role.
• Experience supporting enterprise database environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise database systems.
• Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and health, and perform tuning and optimization as required.
• Ensure database availability and reliability in line with SLAs and ITSM processes.
• Manage database backup, recovery, and restoration activities to ensure data protection and business continuity.
• Implement and maintain database security controls, access management, and data integrity measures.
• Support incident, problem, and change management activities related to database services.
• Participate in root cause analysis and resolution of database-related incidents and performance issues.
• Support database upgrades, patches, and version enhancements in coordination with change management processes.
• Maintain database documentation, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Support audit, compliance, and governance requirements by providing required database evidence and reports.
• Coordinate with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vendor teams to support database-related activities.
• Support capacity planning and forecasting for database services.
• Ensure adherence to SRC IT policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity activities, including testing and documentation.
