Job summary

Salla in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to own the analytics and metrics layer across the platform, ensuring accurate, scalable reports and models for merchants. You will unify data models with Platform PMs and Data Quality Engineers, driving a single analytic foundation for growth insights.

You will lead analytics direction, design governance for metrics, and collaborate with product teams to translate business questions into reusable data models.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics engineering.
• Proven experience building or governing metrics layers / semantic models.
• Strong SQL and Python; experience with data warehouses (BigQuery, ClickHouse, Redshift).
• Experience designing customer- or merchant-facing analytics products—dashboards, embedded reports, or APIs.
• Excellent communication skills; able to align multiple teams around a single source of truth.

Responsibilities

• Own the analytics direction of the Data Platform — define the vision, standards, and roadmap for metrics, models, and reporting delivered through the platform layer.
• Unify data models across product areas — consolidate fragmented metric definitions into a single, governed semantic layer.
• Design, validate, and continuously improve reports and analytics merchants rely on to study and grow their business.
• Establish documentation standards for APIs, datasets, metrics, and columns from warehouse to merchant-facing reports.
• Enable growth analysis by building cohorts, funnels, growth metrics, and benchmarks for merchants and internal teams.
• Guard data quality and consistency by defining validation rules, reconciliation checks, and metric governance.
