Job summary

Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) seeks a highly capable Contract Manager to support the commercial delivery of a major post-contract project. You will ensure contractual obligations are implemented, protect client interests, and drive outcomes through variation, claims, EOT, and close-out activities.

You will advise senior stakeholders, manage procurement, administration, and dispute avoidance, with a proactive, accountable approach to delivering commercial results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in QS, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, or related discipline.
• Professional membership or working towards MRICS, MCIArb/CIArb, CCM, CPCM, or equivalent accreditation.
• Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in managing contracts within construction.
• Proven post-contract delivery across multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Procurement: manage tenders from invitation to submission and evaluate technical and commercial submissions.
• Contract administration: oversee contracts from award to final account with proper governance.
• Change management: lead variations, change orders, and compensation events with documentation.
• Claims and EOT: prepare, evaluate, and negotiate claims; assess delay analyses and entitlements.
• Payment and commercial administration: assist interim/final payments and settlements.
• Risk and notices: draft contractual notices, monitor deadlines, and maintain risk registers.
• Client & stakeholder management: act as trusted advisor to clients and leadership teams.
• Dispute avoidance/resolution: support proactive resolution and, if needed, mediation/arbitration.
