Job summary

IsDB seeks a senior professional to lead climate action and green growth initiatives across mitigation, adaptation and resilience, including nature-based solutions. You will support project identification, appraisal, and implementation, while aligning with Paris agreements and environmental frameworks.

You will coordinate with regional hubs, manage consultants, and contribute to knowledge sharing, capacity building, and results reporting on IsDB’s climate portfolio.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in climate change, sustainability, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in climate change and environmental projects.
• Experience with climate risk screening, GHG accounting, and Paris alignment assessment.
• Familiarity with MDB environmental and social standards and results-based management.
• Languages: English mandatory; Arabic and French preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead senior technical work on climate action and green growth across mitigation, adaptation and resilience.
• Coordinate climate risk screening, GHG accounting, and climate finance qualification in projects.
• Support Paris alignment, ESS interfaces and environmental frameworks in operations.
• Co-lead communities of practice and engage with international partners and donors.
• Contribute to knowledge products, capacity development, and reporting on climate portfolio.
