You should hold a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering with specialization in Road Design and possess affiliations with RICS, IQS, ICES, or CIOB.

Job description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our Project and Construction Management team in Riyadh. This opportunity lies within our Infrastructure Division and requires specific expertise in working on Civil Engineering and Transportation projects, particularly those involving roads, highways, bridges, underpasses, tunnels and associates’ infrastructures in urban environments. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all technical aspects related to road works, including quality control, drawing revision, value engineering and technical construction method revision and follow up. You should coordinate with all the other relevant senior specialties such as structures, drainage, ITS and material, among others.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Main descriptions of the job position:

• Amplifies or resolves design issues, where possible, or coordinates design issue with home office support.
• Advice technically on design changes.
• Overseas the Contractor’s technical submissions, shop drawings, materials, and design submissions.
• Final Review of all Contractor’s relevant documentation, drawings, materials, submittals and others to ensure compliance with the overall objectives of the design concepts of the project.
• Assessment and reporting technically on any Value Engineering proposals.
• Technical control of all roads works as well as coordination with all other discipline specialists and with the people responsible for quality control.
• Act as Point of Contact between the Civil Engineering department and the Technical Manager.

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with specialty/majoring in Road Design and/or equivalent work experience.
• Formal qualifications/affiliations to RICS, IQS, ICES, or CIOB.
• Applicable Experience: over 15 years in consultancy and project management roles, particularly in mega construction projects mainly as a Consultant. Candidates with exclusive contractors experience will not be taken into consideration.
• Experience in ROADS and DESIGN. Candidates without clear ROAD design experience will not be taken into consideration.
• Experience reviewing contractor submissions and supervising site works.
• Understanding of local regulations, and safety standards.
• Proficiency level of English language. Arabic Language is a plus.
• Report writing skills, social skills, communication, teamwork, problem solving, autonomy, flexibility, and technical rigor.
• Willingness to work in a multinational environment firm.

Additional requirements:

• Transferable Iqama in case of non-Saudi.
• Based in Riyadh.
• Valid SCE membership.
