Job summary

Fluor is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer in Saudi Arabia to lead civil design activities for in-house projects, including earthworks, grading, and drainage, and to review contractor designs for safety and compliance.

The role requires 10+ years in civil engineering within petrochemical/oil and gas sectors, FEED/EPC experience, and strong knowledge of international standards. Brownfield and greenfield projects, mentoring, and project coordination are key aspects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of Civil Engineering experience in earthworks, site grading, roads, paving, and drainage design within petrochemical, fertilizer, refining, oil, or gas industries.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience with a recognized international FEED or EPC contractor.
• Experience in FEED and Detailed Design for both greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Site and construction experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of international design codes and standards including AASHTO, ACI, API, ASTM, AWWA, NFPA, and PIP.

Responsibilities

• Perform Civil engineering design for in-house projects, including earthworks, site grading, roads, paving, and drainage systems.
• Review and verify contractor-generated Civil designs to ensure safety, quality, compliance, and fitness for purpose.
• Coordinate Civil engineering activities with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project execution.
• Provide technical guidance and support to engineers and designers within the team.
• Mentor and develop junior Civil Engineers and Designers.
• Execute Civil engineering activities for both greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Prepare design calculation reports and supporting engineering documentation.
• Develop Basis of Design documents, project specifications, and engineering standards.
• Prepare scopes of work for geotechnical investigations, topographical surveys, and underground utility scanning surveys.
• Review vendor drawings and perform interdisciplinary squad checks.
• Participate in 3D model reviews using project review software.
• Prepare material take offs and support project estimating activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, local regulations, and project requirements.
