Job summary

Acwa China is seeking an Operations Manager for a CCGT power plant in Saudi Arabia. The role oversees safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations, including planning, budgeting, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities include start-up/shutdown, outages, reporting, and technology decisions to enhance efficiency. Requires 13–16 years in power generation and a bachelor’s in engineering, with power plant specialization preferred. Site-based role at a remote power plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering with a specialization in Power Plant Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 13–16 years of relevant experience in power generation, desalination, or RO plants.
• Experience in CCGT or similar power generation plants is highly preferred.
• Experience working in the Middle East is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise plant operations, including start-up, shutdown, outages, and emergency operating activities, ensuring safety of personnel, equipment, and environment.
• Ensure efficient operation and achievement of production schedules; monitor operating parameters and reporting.
• Contribute to technical decisions on design criteria, specifications, operating methods, modifications, and improvements; recommend changes.
• Manage resources, workforce allocation, competency development, performance evaluation, training, and on-the-job development.
• Prepare and monitor the plant operating budget and conduct regular operational meetings.
• Ensure IMS, HSE, environmental, legal, PTW, waste management, PPE, hazard risk assessment compliance.
• Lead investigations of incidents and non-conformances; implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor contractors, support emergency drills, and report IMS and performance to management.
