Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Saudi Arabia seeks a senior bridge engineer to lead the design, analysis, and delivery of steel bridge structures across concept to closeout. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and perform analysis and design calculations, providing technical leadership.

The role includes construction support, site inspections, review of shop drawings and method statements, ensuring compliance with Saudi regulations and international standards, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, analysis, and delivery of steel bridge structures across all project phases, from concept and preliminary design through detailed design, construction supervision, and project closeout.
• Develop innovative and practical bridge engineering solutions for complex urban transportation corridors and highway networks.
• Coordinate bridge designs with multidisciplinary teams, including highways, utilities, traffic, drainage, geotechnical, and construction disciplines.
• Perform structural analysis, design calculations, technical reviews, and independent design verification.
• Provide construction support services, including responding to technical queries, reviewing shop drawings, method statements, temporary works proposals, and material submittals.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Review contractor submissions and oversee bridge construction, erection, launching, rehabilitation, strengthening, and maintenance works.
• Identify and resolve design and construction issues arising during project execution.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, Saudi regulations, and international bridge design standards such as AASHTO, Eurocodes, and relevant local codes.
• Support stakeholder engagement and coordinate with contractors, consultants, utility agencies, and government authorities.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within bridge design and supervision teams.
