Job summary

Norconsult Telematics in Saudi Arabia is seeking a skilled backend developer to design, build, and maintain REST APIs and services using .NET Framework 4.8 and .NET Core. You will ensure service availability, performance, and SLA compliance across the platform and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.

You will work with Azure Boards, Azure DevOps, and a cross-functional team of frontend and mobile engineers, write tests, optimize SQL Server databases, and participate in on‑call

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4–5 years of backend development experience.
• Experience with .NET Framework 4.8 and .NET Core
• Proven track record delivering production-grade backend services.
• Experience in Agile environments and on-call rotation.

Deliver contracted backend and API enhancements to agreed scope, quality, and schedule. Maintain service availability, performance, and SLA compliance across the platform estate. Sustain and progressively improve both .NET Framework 4.8 and .NET Core services. Improve database performance and query efficiency across SQL Server workloads. Strengthen test coverage, deployment automation, and technical documentation

Job Description & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain REST APIs and backend services
• Develop and maintain services across both .NET Framework 4.8 and .NET Core
• Design and optimize SQL Server databases, including queries, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning
• Implement API authentication and authorization
• Debug, troubleshoot, and support existing backend applications in production
• Analyse application logs and monitoring output to diagnose production issues, and participate in incident investigation and root-cause analysis
• Contribute to incident and RCA documentation
• Participate in the out-of-hours and on-call support rota for production issues
• Work from Azure Boards and maintain a clean delivery audit trail in Azure DevOps
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Support services deployed across both cloud and data‑centre‑hosted environments
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑structured code and participate in code reviews
• Produce and maintain technical documentation
• Work effectively within an existing development team and alongside frontend and mobile engineers

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.
• Minimum 4 to 5 years professional backend development experience
• Experience maintaining and extending established applications across both .NET Framework and .NET Core
• Demonstrated experience delivering and supporting production‑grade backend services and APIs
• Experience taking independent ownership of technical problems through to production‑ready resolution
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments and structured code review processes
• Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours support rotation
