Job summary

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Senior Asset Suppression Specialist to support the RSAF fleet, optimise maintenance processes, and lead strategic technical initiatives to improve asset availability. The role focuses on liaising with RSAF, MODSAP and UK teams, driving engineering changes and knowledge transfer in a high-security environment.

Applicants should have Typhoon knowledge, fast jet operations experience, and a strong network across Saudi Arabia and the UK.

Qualifications

• NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline or technical apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Typhoon aircraft from maintenance, support and design perspective.
• Experience in fast jet operations support environment.
• Experience with RSAF and/or RAF.
• Strong stakeholder management across MODSAP and RSAF.

Responsibilities

• Support the Asset Suppression Team Leader to optimise maintenance processes to reduce criticality and increase availability.
• Identify, develop and project manage strategic maintenance solutions to preserve asset availability.
• Report on SHE incidents and hazardous occurrences.
• Maintain relationships with RSAF Customer, MODSAP, PC teams and Typhoon core programme personnel.
• Provide frequent reporting to support findings and performance indicators for stakeholders.
• Support Taif Operational & Management Reviews.
• Assist Life Cycle Management activities and engineering change processes.

Job Title: Senior Asset Suppression Specialist

JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

To support the tactical and strategic asset management strategy of Keep on Wing, Keep on Base, Keep in Kingdom through improved maintenance, reliability enhancements, modifications and maintenance policy changes, etc that will enable us to improve performance (predominantly the aircraft availability KPM’s) and sustain our future SSS Ph4 performance levels.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Support the Asset Suppression Team Leader in providing the necessary support to the RSAF fleet by ensuring that the maintenance processes are fully optimised to reduce criticality and increase/sustain availability.
• Identify, develop and project manage the implementation of strategic maintenance and associated engineering solutions to reduce individual asset criticality and preserve availability where required and to tangibly improve asset performance and platform availability.
• Compliance to local SHE plans by reporting on hazardous occurrences including accident /incident collation and reporting.
• Build and maintain a constructive and trusting relationship with all stakeholders including the RSAF Customer, MODSAP, PC teams and the Typhoon core programme personnel providing and discharging the tactical and strategic integration activities, mitigation activities and stakeholder engagement.
• Provision of frequent reporting to support findings, status, achievements and performance indicators for the various levels of stakeholders.
• Provide support to the Asset Suppression Team Leader for all Taif Operational & Management Reviews.
• Where required support on-going Engineering and Life Cycle Management activities including the definition of engineering change and capability insertion and promotion of Learning from Experience (LfE) to future contract negotiations.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

• A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification.
• Knowledge of the Typhoon aircraft, from a maintenance, support and design perspective.
• Knowledge and experience of working in a fast jet operations support environment
• Previous experience of working with the RSAF and/or the RAF.
• Knowledge and network base across both the BAESYSTEMS Saudi Arabia organisation and the wider UK support organisations.
• Experience of wide stakeholder management within both the MODSAP and RSAF organisations
• Relevant type training (Typhoon ‘Q’ Course) and equipment specific training if required.
