Job summary

COGNNA is seeking a motivated Security Engineer Intern to join our Security Engineering team in Riyadh. You will build, integrate, and operate the tools powering our security operations, connecting data sources, automating workflows, and strengthening risk detection and response.

You will support data integration, log pipelines, and incident response while learning vulnerability management and cloud security across on‑prem and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• Solid understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and core security concepts.
• Familiarity with scripting or programming for automation and tool integration.
• Interest in APIs and system integration to enable data flow between tools.
• Strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and a genuine interest in security engineering.
• Good communication skills and ability to document technical work clearly.

Responsibilities

• Stack & Data Integration: Support integration and onboarding of new data sources, tools, and platforms into our security stack.
• Pipeline Maintenance: Configure, tune, and maintain log collection, detection, and alerting pipelines across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Incident & Forensics Support: Assist in deploying tooling for investigation, evidence collection, and forensic analysis during incidents.
• Vulnerability Management: Support rollout and integration of vulnerability scanning tools and track findings.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Secure and integrate tooling across cloud infrastructure, including identity, access, and configuration management.
• Scripting & Automation: Write scripts to connect tools and improve data flow between security systems.
• R&D & Prototyping: Research and prototype new tools or workflows to enhance detection, response, and risk management.
• Documentation: Prepare clear technical documentation and reports summarizing integrations and findings.
