Job summary

Acwa Power is seeking a CCR Operator for the Plant Operations department. The role involves monitoring and controlling unit operation parameters, coordinating with fellow Operators, and ensuring adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities include logbook updates, incident reporting, and coordination with the Shift Charge Engineer and Shift Supervisor. The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Engineering (Bachelor preferred) and at least 5 years in a similar role.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering is a must. Preferred Bachelor of Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in the same position.
• Familiar with P&IDs, SOPs, Work Instructions, operation and control logics, and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules and regulations; be familiar with fire equipment in his area.
• Familiar with plant P&IDs, SOPs, Work instructions, operation and control logics, and emergency operation procedures and related documents.
• Monitor unit parameters and enter periodic readings on log sheets; summarize shift activities/events in the log book.
• Follow instructions of the Shift Charge Engineer and Shift Supervisor; coordinate with other Operators.
• Be alert and take quick actions during abnormal operating conditions.
• Coordinate and ensure Lock Out & Tag Out during equipment isolation for maintenance and normalize equipment after cancellation.
• Inspect the unit and auxiliaries to ensure parameters are within limits; report abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor/SCE.
• Perform periodic protection tests, maintain records; perform equipment changeovers per schedules.
• Raise work requests or defect notes and follow up for rectification.
• Assist in training new operators.
• Report near misses and implement risk controls
• Report deviations in Quality Health Safety and Environmental Management System
• Ensure proper waste disposal measures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Summary

Monitor and control of the Unit plant Operation parameters and coordinate with the other Operators in regard to all related activities that affect operation

Roles & Responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules and regulations; be familiar with the fire equipment in his area


• Familiar with plant P & IDs, SOPs, Work instructions, Operation and control logics, as well as the emergency operation procedures and any other related documents


• Monitor all parameters of the unit and enter periodic readings on log sheets; summarize all activities/events that took place during his shift in the log book


• Follow the instructions of the Shift Charge Engineer and Shift Supervisor and coordinate with other Operators in regard to all activities


• Be alert and take quick actions during abnormal operating conditions


• Coordinate and ensure Lock Out & Tag Out during the isolation of equipment for maintenance as per the approved Permit To Work procedure; normalize the equipment after cancellation when instructed to do so


• Inspect the unit and auxiliaries during the shift to make sure that all equipment parameters are within limits; report abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor SCE


• Perform the periodic protection tests under the supervision of SCE Supervisor and maintain records; perform equipment change over according to preset schedules


• Raise work requests or defect notes for faulty equipment and follow up for the defect rectification


• Assist in the training and familiarization of new operators


• Report near misses and implement prescribed risk controls


• Report deviations in Quality Health Safety and Environmental Management System


• Ensure proper waste disposal measures


• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Specifications

• Educational Desired Diploma in Engineering is a must. Preferred Bachelor of Engineering.
