Job summary

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia seeks a Safety Training Manager to lead aviation safety training in Riyadh. You will design, deliver and assess safety courses for RSAF operations within a rigorous military training environment.

You will develop courseware, supervise instructors, maintain records, and report on progress, while upholding SHE policies and professional standards in line with RSAF requirements. Expatriates are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of a Service or Civilian Flying or Technical Training Institute.
  • Accredited Workplace/Aviation Safety related Qualifications.
  • Must be qualified instructor and have completed a formal Instructional Techniques Course or equivalent.
  • Must have experience of safety within a technical orientated or operational environment.
  • Must have recent classroom experience as a Safety Instructor.
  • Computer literate, with a fully conversant working knowledge of Microsoft Office; especially MS Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct students on Workplace and Environmental Safety with emphasis on safety aspects related to Flying Operations, Airfield Operations and Aviation & Ground Support Equipment Maintenance/Usage according to the approved syllabus.
  • Develop appropriate courseware based on associated TNA.
  • Regularly review the relevant subject area’s courseware.
  • Recommend changes to the relevant course material.
  • Review and recommend changes to assessment material in the relevant subject area.
  • Deliver or supervise demonstrations in the relevant subject area.
  • Conduct visits to relevant areas of interest.
  • Provide practical and multi-media demonstrations on workplace safety.
  • Conduct regular assessments to ensure students are progressing academically.
  • Conduct phase-end examinations to ensure training objectives have been achieved.
  • Adopt and promote independent learning and a military ethos in line with the training environment.
  • Provide on-going evaluation of students’ discipline as part of their final assessment.
  • Counsel and motivate students, where applicable, on relevant academic and discipline issues.
  • Record students’ academic assessment results.
  • Record students’ lesson attendance.
  • Record any discipline issues with students.
  • Provide regular reports concerning student’s academic progress, lesson attendance and discipline.
  • Report any other relevant issues whenever required or deemed appropriate.
  • Apply RSAF procedures for configuration control of curriculum and courseware, including preparing documentation and supporting data for curriculum or courseware change requests.
  • Integrate new training materials or equipment into the relevant course.
  • Ensure all training equipment is properly maintained and stored.
  • Contribute to preparation of timetables, scheduling and allocation of instructors.
  • Operate training and operational equipment related to their speciality.
  • Ensure compliance with SHE policy and processes and Duty of Care responsibilities.
  • Undertake all mandatory and developmental training as required by the Company.
  • Adhere to acceptable standards of behaviour, dress and performance as defined in Company policy.
  • Provide feedback to management to improve service performance and responsiveness and identify opportunities.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by the customer that can be construed as a reasonable activity for a professional teacher / instructor.

Safety Training Manager

JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Teach

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
  • Must be a graduate of a Service or Civilian Flying or Technical Training Institute.

  • Must have experience of safety within a technical orientated or operational environment.

Desirable
  • Military Aviation background experience.
  • Technical experience in either manufacturing or maintenance.
