Job summary

Front End in Saudi Arabia seeks a Safety Engineer to provide hands-on, field-level safety engineering support for daily operations and maintenance. You will assist the Senior Safety Engineer in implementing the HSE program, monitor compliance, and coach crews on safe work practices in line with Front End requirements.

The role requires a BSc in Safety & Fire Engineering or related field with at least 2 years of experience in oil & gas or petrochemical safety.

Qualifications

• BSc in Safety & Fire Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years as Safety Engineer in oil & gas or petrochemical.
• Familiar with Saudi Aramco safety requirements and permit-to-work systems.
• HSE certification preferred (NEBOSH IGC, OSHA 30).
• Saudi Council of Engineers registration or eligibility for non-nationals.
• Good English; Arabic advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily field safety inspections of sites, tools, equipment, scaffolding, and lifting operations.
• Participate in preparation and review of JSAs and risk assessments; verify controls are in place.
• Monitor Work Permit compliance, gas testing, confined space entry, and LOTO in the field.
• Deliver toolbox talks and pre-job safety briefings; promote hazard identification and near-miss reporting.
• Support incident reporting and preliminary investigation; maintain HSE records and registers.
• Inspect and track fire-fighting equipment, PPE, first aid, and emergency readiness.
• Participate in emergency drills and act as field responder within site emergency organization.
• Escalate unsafe acts/conditions and exercise stop-work authority when required.

Role Purpose

The Safety Engineer provides hands-on, field-level safety engineering support for daily operation and maintenance activities, ensuring safe execution of work at the front line. The role supports the Senior Safety Engineer in implementing the HSE program, monitoring compliance, and coaching crews in safe work practices in line with Saudi Aramco and Front End requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily field safety inspections of work sites, tools, equipment, scaffolding, and lifting operations.
• Participate in preparation and review of JSAs and risk assessments; verify controls are in place before and during work.
• Monitor Work Permit compliance, gas testing, confined space entry, and energy isolation (LOTO) in the field.
• Deliver toolbox talks and pre-job safety briefings; promote hazard identification and near-miss reporting.
• Support incident reporting and preliminary investigation; maintain HSE records, statistics, and registers.
• Inspect and track fire-fighting equipment, PPE, first aid, and emergency response readiness.
• Participate in emergency drills and act as field responder within the site emergency organization.
• Escalate unsafe acts/conditions and exercise stop-work authority when required.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Safety & Fire Engineering or any engineering discipline.
• Minimum two (2) years' experience as a Safety Engineer in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco safety requirements and permit-to-work systems preferred.
• HSE certification preferred (NEBOSH IGC, OSHA 30, or equivalent).
• Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration (or eligibility for non-nationals).
• Good English communication; Arabic an advantage.
