Job summary

Confidential in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Safety Engineer to develop and monitor health, safety, and environmental programs across operations and projects. You will identify hazards, assess risks, and promote a strong safety culture, reporting to the HSE Manager.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or OHS, 3-6 years' experience, and professional certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH. Travel to sites may be required, and candidates must communicate in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
• 3–6 years of HSE experience in construction, oil and gas, manufacturing, or facilities.
• NEBOSH, OSHA 30, IOSH, or CSP certifications preferred.
• First aid, firefighting, and incident investigation training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
• Conduct risk assessments, JHA, and HAZID/HAZOP studies, and recommend control measures.
• Perform regular site inspections and audits, and follow up on corrective actions until closed.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, determine root causes, and prepare reports.
• Issue and monitor permit-to-work, lockout/tagout, hot work, confined space, and working-at-height controls.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and local requirements).
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for employees and contractors.
• Review contractor safety plans and method statements, and monitor their performance on site.
• Maintain emergency response plans, lead drills, and ensure firefighting and first-aid equipment is ready.
• Ensure correct use and availability of PPE.
• Track and report safety KPIs, including TRIR, LTIFR, and inspection closure rates.
• Support environmental management, waste handling, and occupational health programs.
• Maintain HSE records, registers, and documentation for audits.
