Job summary

Leaf Global Environmental Services in Riyadh seeks a Medical Waste Treatment Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation of the medical waste treatment facility. You will monitor, operate, and maintain equipment, support preventive maintenance, and work with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a biomedical engineering degree and at least two years' plant operations experience, with a focus on HSE compliance, problem solving, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in plant operations, medical waste treatment, or related field.
• Professional membership/registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) under a medical/biomedical engineering classification.
• Practical knowledge of equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Ability to analyze equipment and operational issues and provide effective solutions.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for plant operations and equipment performance.
• Willingness to work on-site at the Riyadh facility.
• Knowledge of medical waste treatment processes and equipment is highly preferred.
• Experience in a plant or treatment facility environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and support the day-to-day operation of medical waste treatment processes and equipment.
• Operate and monitor medical waste treatment equipment, including sterilization and thermal treatment.
• Monitor critical treatment parameters to ensure effective treatment.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and equipment-related failures and coordinate with maintenance teams.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify potential issues before interruptions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Operations to identify and eliminate bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with medical waste collection teams to ensure smooth treatment operations.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and medical waste regulations.
• Prepare technical reports on equipment performance and maintenance.
• Participate in equipment upgrades, plant improvements, and CAPEX projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, reliable plant operations.
• Support risk assessments, troubleshooting, and emergency response procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and energy efficiency.
