Job summary

HDR is seeking a Risk/Quality Manager to lead the QMS rollout in the Middle East, serving as the local liaison to HDR’s Quality Office. The role focuses on advancing risk management, quality culture, and process discipline across project teams in the region.

You will guide project managers on plans, coordinate with area leaders, report on QMS progress, and drive continuous improvement. This position is based in Saudi Arabia with collaboration across HDR offices.

Qualifications

  • Professional degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum 6 years in industry with at least 3 years in quality fields.
  • Quality certification (or ability to obtain).
  • A deep understanding of QMS fundamentals.
  • Proven staff communication and engagement skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with investigative interview experience.
  • Familiar with MS Office; PowerBI and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the local leadership representative for HDR's Quality Office and support the QMS implementation.
  • Provide guidance to Project Managers on project plans (PM Plan, QMS Plan, Risk Plan) and best practices.
  • Coordinate with local area business group project quality managers for support.
  • Regularly report QMS implementation, lessons learned, and audit resolution strategies.
  • Communicate QMS and ILG updates to area leadership and staff as appropriate.
  • Develop and update local area processes to implement QMS and ILG requirements.
  • Maintain a comprehensive onboarding program to raise awareness of HDR QMS.
  • Address staff questions on policies and procedures related to the QMS.
  • Identify local training opportunities by monitoring quality-related loss trends.

HDR is currently seeking a Risk/Quality Manager to join our team in one of our offices in the Middle East.

As the Risk/Quality Manager, you will serve as the local leadership representative of HDR’s Corporate Quality Office and the HDR Quality Management System (QMS) within the Middle East area. In this role, you will act as a trusted business partner, helping to:

  • Champion awareness and inspire the implementation of HDR’s QMS and data management practices.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning while advancing risk-management principles across the area.
  • Empower local leadership and project teams to develop strong processes and deliver project work in alignment with HDR’s QMS.

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about problem-solving, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of quality by actively listening and empowering project teams to surface challenges and celebrate successes.

In the role of Risk/Quality Manager, we'll count on you to:
  • Serve as the local leadership representative for the quality office and support the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS). Work to continually advance the culture of quality by working in close partnership with area leadership.
  • Provide guidance and support to Project Managers regarding development of project plans (e.g., Project Management Plan, Quality Management Plan, Risk Management Plan), identifying best practices for their projects when requested.
  • Coordinate with the local area business group project quality managers on project support needs and transmission of key project experience.
  • Regularly report QMS implementation, lessons learned, and audit resolution strategies to the Quality Office.
  • Communicate QMS and Information Lifecycle Governance (ILG) updates and Quality Office and ILG directives to the area leadership and staff as appropriate.
  • Develop and update local area processes supporting implementation of QMS and ILG requirements. Work cross-functionally with area leadership to continually align and refine local delivery processes (e.g., Business Groups, Operations, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, Safety, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive new employees on-boarding program to provide awareness of the HDR QMS and its role in our organization.
  • Respond to staff questions or issues related to policies and procedures related to the organization’s QMS.
  • Identify local opportunities for training and support through monitoring loss trends due to quality related issues.
Required Qualifications:
  • Professional Degree required or equivalent years of experience.

  • Proven skills in the areas of staff communication and engagement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with investigative interview experience.
  • Strong familiarity with full suite of MS Office; PowerBI, SharePoint and collaborative comment/review applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in similar (AEC) consulting industry; familiarity with service delivery models and client demands/requirements.
  • Strong commitment to enhancing quality culture among local leadership and staff.
  • Must have strong leadership skills and be able to manage relationships with Area Leadership, Quality Office, and local project teams effectively.
  • Must be able to resolve conflicts between vested parties to reach solutions where risk can be mitigated while allowing business to remain flexible/nimble.
  • High level of collaboration and self-awareness; focused on both reinforcing corporate quality and risk management messaging as well as details of our reporting systems and core quality processes.
