Job summary

Fichtner Consulting Engineers Company seeks an experienced Resident Engineer/Construction Manager to lead on-site construction and supervision for large-scale infrastructure projects in the GCC. Responsibilities include ensuring execution per drawings, specs and contracts, coordinating with clients and design teams, and driving milestones.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, 15+ years in engineering/construction, and at least 5 years in consultancy as a Resident

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; registration/certification advantageous.
• 15+ years of total professional experience in engineering, construction and project supervision.
• Minimum 5 years of consultancy experience as Resident Engineer or Construction Manager.
• Experience on large-scale infrastructure and utility projects in GCC region preferred.
• Fluent in Arabic and English; Arabic nationality mandatory.
• Knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions; strong leadership and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all on-site construction and supervision activities.
• Ensure project execution in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contractual requirements and regulations.
• Coordinate with Client, Contractor, Design Consultants and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and milestones; review method statements, shop drawings, submittals and technical submissions.
• Ensure QA/QC procedures; conduct site inspections; monitor HSE compliance.
• Chair progress meetings and prepare project reports.
• Identify risks; recommend mitigations; review claims, variations and extension of time requests.
• Ensure testing, commissioning and handover of facilities.
• Mentor and guide site supervision teams and discipline engineers.

Job description

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering only.Professional Engineering registration/certification is an advantage.Minimum 15 years of total professional experience in engineering, construction, and project supervision.Minimum 5 years of consultancy experience in a Resident Engineer and/or Construction Manager role.Proven experience in the construction and supervision of at least one or more of the following:Sewage Treatment Plants (STP)Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP)Water Treatment Plants (WTP)Water Purification Plants/Projects (WPP)Experience working on large-scale infrastructure and utility projects within the GCC region is highly preferred.Demonstrated experience in project commissioning, testing, and final handover.Strong leadership and project management capabilities.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Sound knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions.Strong understanding of construction methodologies and engineering standards.Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in MS Office, Primavera P6, and project reporting tools.Fluent in both Arabic and English.Nationality RequirementArabic Nationality is mandatory.
