About the job Release Manager (Software )
The ideal candidate will own theReleaseManagement, including scheduling, coordinating and managing releasesacross the enterprise for multiple applications across various portfolios. Thereleases can consist of application updates, operating system patches, securityimprovements, hardware upgrades, Projects, and Programs.
Responsibilities
- Forward Plan the release windows and cyclesacross a portfolio.
- Manage risks and resolves issues that affectrelease scope, schedule, and quality.
- Measure and monitor progress to ensureapplication releases are delivered on time and within and that they meet orexceed expectations
- Coordinate release content and effort based onthe service request backlog, pending service requests, third partyapplications, or operating system updates.
- Communicate all essential project plans,commitments, and changes, including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scopechanges.
- Responsible for handling the DevOps team todeliver the services on time and manage both IT operations and developers.
- Manage relationships and coordinate workbetween different teams at different locations.
- Conduct Release Readiness reviews, MilestoneReviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews Produce Deployment, Run Books andImplementation Plans.
- Weekly Release Reporting.
- Communicate release details and schedules tothe Business as required.
- Negotiate, plan and manage all releaseactivities
- Work with release engineers to understandimpacts of branches and code merges.
- Maintains the release schedule for all coreservices and ensures alignment across key partners and vendors.
- Continually work towards making improvements inthe release process.
- Lead and coordinate the Go-Live activities,including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.
- Participate in CAB meetings to discuss releasescope and roadblocks.
- Maintains a release repository and managesessential information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, andnotification lists.
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Computer science or a any relevant feild.
- Must be SaudiNational.
- Must have Software Background.
- In-depthknowledge in the areas of Citrix, application infrastructure (Windows server) andoperating and system architecture.
- Goodprogramming skills. C++ is a plus.
- In-depthknowledge of common agile and / or classical procedural models (for example PMI/ SCRUM or ITIL), as well as in project management and presentation techniquesa safe handling of project management tools.
- Experience with build and release management, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
