Job summary

RAAFA in Merriwa, WA is seeking an experienced Relief Night Registered Nurse for overnight care at Karri & Tuart Lodge. The role offers permanent part-time relief with night shifts (9:00pm – 7:30am) and potential to cover via nearby Vivian Bullwinkel Lodge.

You will coordinate resident care, supervise staff, and ensure high standards of care. Role requires a Bachelor of Nursing, current AHPRA registration, and 6+ months in Residential Aged Care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 6 months' experience as a Registered Nurse in Residential Aged Care; 12 months+ highly regarded.
• Strong clinical assessment, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Confidence working independently as the senior clinician on night shift.
• Knowledge of medication management and aged care best practice.
• Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
• Passion for providing quality care to older Australians.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee resident care during overnight shifts.
• Conduct clinical assessments and recognise changes in resident conditions.
• Administer medications and deliver complex clinical care including wound management and other specialised nursing interventions.
• Liaise with residents, families, GPs and allied health professionals regarding clinical care and outcomes.
• Monitor and respond to incidents, emergencies and resident deterioration.
• Supervise and support Care Staff and Enrolled Nurses throughout the shift.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with aged care standards and legislation.
• Provide leadership and oversight of the facility in the absence of the Facility Manager and Clinical Care Coordinator.

Join the team at Karri & Tuart Lodge in Merriwa and play a vital role in delivering exceptional overnight clinical care to our residents.

We are currently seeking an experienced Relief Night Registered Nurse to join our Residential Aged Care team on a permanent part-time basis.

A relief position offers the security and benefits of permanent employment while providing flexibility within your roster. This role is ideal for someone seeking regular night duty shifts with the opportunity to support operational requirements across the site. We are currently looking to find someone with flexibility to work weekdays, especially Wednesday and Thursday night shifts (9:00pm – 7:30am), with potential opportunities to pick up additional shifts at our nearby Vivian Bullwinkel Lodge in the future.

As the senior clinician on duty overnight, you will be responsible for coordinating resident care, managing clinical concerns, supporting and supervising care staff, and ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained throughout the shift. This role is best suited to an experienced Registered Nurse who is confident working autonomously and making sound clinical decisions.
