Job summary

RAAFA WA is seeking a part-time Residential Aged Care activities support worker to assist in therapy programs and resident activities, Monday to Friday. You will help assess residents' needs and run group and individual activities, under Allied Health and Clinical teams.

You should have Certificate III in Allied Health or similar qualification, be autonomous within a multidisciplinary team, and be empathetic to elderly residents.

• Ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible start and finish times.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of therapy programs including group and individual activities.

The Role And You

• Assist in the implementation of therapy programs including group and individual activities.
• Assist in assessing resident's needs and preferences and help develop appropriate programs in relation to the individual.
• Supervise volunteers who are assisting with the program.
• Complete documentation and reporting in relation to the role.
• Communicate with Allied Health and Clinical teams on the outcome of programs for the residents.

About You

• Previous, demonstrated experience working in Residential Aged Care.
• Ability to work autonomously and with a multidisciplinary team.
• Proactive with a positive 'get up and go!' attitude.
• Flexible with start and finish times.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to relate to the elderly with empathy and understand their needs.
• Demonstrate flexible decision making and advanced problem solving skills.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work tasks.
• Enjoy building positive relationships with residents, their families and staff.

What You Need To Do
