Job summary

A leading construction firm in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Qualified Static Mechanical Inspector to oversee that all static mechanical installations meet project specifications and standards. The inspector will be responsible for inspecting a range of mechanical equipment including pressure vessels and piping, ensuring compliance with international codes. Ideal candidates should be API certified and have extensive knowledge of mechanical systems and testing procedures. This role requires strong attention to detail and project coordination skills.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience and knowledge in inspecting static mechanical equipment.

Job description
Overview

We are looking for a Qualified Static Mechanical Inspector to ensure that all static mechanical equipment and installations comply with project specifications, international codes and Aramco standards. The role involves inspection, verification, and documentation of installation, and testing activities for static equipment throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties
  • Inspect static mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, piping, valves, boilers, and structural supports.
  • Verify compliance with ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, and project-specific standards.
  • Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, drawings, and material certificates.
  • Conduct inspections during fabrication, erection, and pre-commissioning stages.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and third-party inspectors to resolve quality issues.
  • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure proper documentation, inspection reports, and quality records are maintained.
Qualifications

Candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • Certified by API (API 653 and API 510)
  • Have direct work experience and thorough knowledge of static mechanical equipment, commodities, materials construction, Pre-Commissioning and quality activities required for the work.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Work-related engineering codes and standards, such as ASTM, API, IEC, NEMA, UL, FM, NFPA, ASME BPVC (Sections I, V, VIII and IX); ANSI/ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8 and B73; NACE SPs, API 620, API 650 and AWS D1.1.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of mechanical process systems inspection and testing; procedures, tools and test equipment used in receiving, storage, fabrication, erection, construction and Pre-Commissioning of steam and combustion turbines, diesel engines, pumps, compressors, motors and generators, valves, pressure vessels, fired heaters, tanks, structural steel, hot/cold insulation etc.
