Job summary

Musco Lighting is seeking a quality inspector to support manufacturing operations in driving continuous improvement. The role emphasizes inspecting parts, analyzing quality data, and resolving nonconformances with internal teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree preferred in manufacturing or quality
  • 3–5 years quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings
  • Knowledge of GD&T and SPC
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and teamwork

Responsibilities

  • Perform root cause analysis on nonconforming parts and customer returns and make disposition decisions.
  • Perform detailed layout inspections and document results.
  • Collect and analyze quality data.
  • Analyze product quality.
  • Resolve quality concerns and problems with in-house personnel and vendors.
  • Execute planned improvement activity.
  • Prepare and implement inspection plans.
  • Conduct process and component audits.
  • Perform gage R&R.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Primary Purpose

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform root cause analysis on nonconforming parts and customer returns and make disposition decisions.
  • Perform detailed layout inspections and document results.
  • Collect and analyze quality data.
  • Analyze product quality.
  • Resolve quality concerns/problems with in-house personnel and vendors.
  • Execute planned improvement activity.
  • Prepare and implement inspection plans.
  • Conduct process and component audits.
  • Perform gage Repeatability and Reproducibility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Two-year technical degree is preferred
  • Minimum three-five years quality experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Job Specifications
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/component drawings
  • Ability to operate measuring and inspection equipment such as CMM, granite, surface plate, height gage, micrometers, calipers, and a variety of other gages.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts including solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and SPC
  • Must be computer literate, specifically in Word and Excel
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Attention to accuracy and detail
