Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to identify and negotiate with contract suppliers, manage inventories, and support cost reduction initiatives in a dynamic environment.

You will work with engineers and production teams to ensure quality and timely delivery, applying English and Arabic communication skills to secure favorable terms.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of purchasing experience.
• Business or Engineering degree preferred.
• Knowledge of purchasing systems and negotiation techniques.
• Bilingual English/Arabic communication.

Responsibilities

• Identify and negotiate with contract suppliers for materials and services.
• Establish procedures for quality, delivery, service and price improvements.
• Maintain minimum inventory levels and minimize obsolescence without backorders.
• Provide technical assistance to interpret, analyze, and resolve procurement issues.
• Collaborate with engineers, production and suppliers to ensure standards and quality.
• Prepare cost comparison requests for Purchasing, Engineering and Production projects.
• Research firms with manufacturing facilities, evaluating their capabilities and equipment.

Job description

• Identify and negotiate with contract suppliers for materials, supplies, equipment and/or services
• Establish and maintain procedures for continued improvement of quality, delivery, service and price
• Support minimum inventory levels and minimize obsolete inventory while meeting goals of no backorders or production disruptions
• Provide technical assistance to interpret, analyze, and resolve procurement issues
• Develop and maintain working relationships with engineers, production, and suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards and quality requirements
• Calculate and prepare cost comparison requests for Purchasing, Engineering and Production projects
• Search out, contact and investigate firms with manufacturing facilities and/or services, including evaluating business philosophy, reliability, workforce skills, physical plant, machinery, tooling and equipment

Requirements

• 3-5 Years of previous purchasing experience strongly desired
• Business or Engineering degree preferred, or equivalent years' experience
• Working knowledge of purchasing systems and negotiation techniques
• Strong command of both English and Arabic (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• High level of organization, with strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated to work independently
• Proficient with computers and Office365 programs, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
