Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Proposal Engineer to evaluate tenders, develop technical proposals, and ensure compliance with international standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 5-8 years of experience in protection and control systems design. This role focuses on optimizing solutions for substation automation systems, collaborating with stakeholders, and providing technical support for sales teams.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in relevant field.
• Extensive technological understanding in protection and control systems design.
• Clear understanding of communication protocols used in the field.
• Extensive knowledge of substation configurations and their components.
• Well versed with international standards IEC 61850, IEEE, ANSI, IEC 104.
• Familiar with SEC/National Grid specification & standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate tender specifications and build preliminary system architecture.
• Develop detailed technical proposals covering customer specification requirements.
• Identify and finalize the right fit portfolio for maximum utilization.
• Engage stakeholders with factory and Engineering team for solution.
• Provide technical support to front-end sales team on automation products.
• Develop a pool of technical proposals for standardized solutions.

Your Role – International, Challenging And Future-Oriented!

• Evaluation of Tender Specifications.
• Build preliminary system architecture (tentative) based on tender specifications.
• Develop detailed technical proposals covering specification requirements of the customer.
• Based on architecture, develop detailed bills of materials ensuring complete scope is covered.
• Identify and finalize the right fit portfolio and maximize utilization of in-house portfolio
• Engage stake holders discussions with factory, SCM & Engineering team for overall solution.
• Closely work with SCM in obtaining timely proposals from third party vendors by providing them with detailed specifications of the products required.
• Provide technical support to front end sales team on substation automation and products.
• Develop pool of technical proposals for standardized solution in substation automation which enables faster turnaround time of tender to offer submission.
• Close work with internal stakeholders like finance, legal, compliance and ensure smooth bid approval process are completed.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• 5-8 years of experience in relevant field.
• The candidate shall possess extensive technological understanding in the area of
• Protection and control systems design
• Shall have a clear understanding of various communication protocols used in desired field.
• Shall have extensive knowledge of understanding over all substation configurations and their components.
• Shall be well versed with international standards IEC 61850, IEEE, ANSI, IEC 104 etc…
• Shall be filmier with SEC/National Grid specification & standards, like OPDS, and unified schemes. Shall have solid background with Substation Automation Systems of National Grid, and SEC SCADA requirements.
• Shall have solid background of PMS, CCMS, and RTUs applications. For industry, utility & infrastructure applications.
