Job summary

Manpower Resources India seeks a seasoned Project Head to lead and deliver large capital projects in a global iron & steel setting. You will drive end-to-end delivery from concept through commissioning for Slab Caster Gas-Based DRI and Lime/Dolomite plants, coordinating with licensors, EPCs and contractors to ensure on-time, on-budget results.

The role requires 18+ years in iron & steel, strong leadership, and excellent stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end project delivery for Slab Caster Gas-Based DRI Plant and Lime/Dolo Plant from concept to commissioning.
• Drive project planning, define scope, budget, schedule and manpower plan for each project.
• Coordinate with technology licensors, EPC contractors, OEMs and consultants for design and execution methods.
• Oversee procurement and contracts with the commercial team, including vendor selection and expediting critical equipment.
• Manage site execution across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works with focus on safety and quality.
• Lead commissioning and stabilization, ensuring smooth handover and ramp-up to capacity.
• Provide regular status reports and risk updates to senior management and the Board.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end project delivery for the Slab Caster Gas-Based DRI Plant and Lime Dolo Plant - from concept feasibility and basic engineering through detailed engineering procurement construction and commissioning concept to commissioning Drive project planning define scope budget schedule and manpower plan for each project track progress against milestones and course-correct as needed Coordinate with technology licensors EPC contractors OEMs and consultants to finalize process design equipment specifications and execution methodology Manage procurement and contracts in coordination with the commercial team - vendor selection contract finalization and expediting of critical equipment Oversee site execution - civil structural mechanical electrical and instrumentation works - ensuring quality safety and statutory compliance at all times Lead commissioning and stabilization of each unit working closely with operations to ensure a smooth handover and ramp-up to rated capacity Manage project budgets and capital expenditure track costs against approved estimates and report variances to management Build and lead the project team including engineers and site supervisors coordinate with cross-functional teams operations maintenance safety quality finance Provide regular project status reports and risk updates to senior management and the Board as required

18-24 years of experience in the iron & steel industry, with a track record of executing large capital projects such as Slab Caster, DRI (gas-based) and Lime/Dolomite calcination plants. Hands-on experience of at least one greenfield or brownfield project from concept stage to commissioning is essential. Strong knowledge of steel-making process technology, project engineering, EPC contract management and commissioning practices. Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to work with multi-cultural teams and international contractors. Age up to 48 years.
